The program begins March 21, 2009 and concludes May 1, 2009. The successful applicant will apprentice with POV's Stage Management department on the main stage production of THE MAGIC FLUTE and the Opera in the Schools production of ELIJAH'S KITE. The focus of Pacific Opera Victoria's Young Artist Program is on the training and development of aspiring professional artists. The program is intended to benefit a Canadian artist who has completed or is completing pre-professional training in Stage Management and who intends to make a career in the professional opera/theatre field as a Stage Manager and who is not a member of any professional performing artists' association or union. The Stage Management Apprentice will be engaged under the jurisdiction of Canadian Actors' Equity Association. Preference will be given to applicants with an ability to read music and follow an opera vocal score. Only successful applicants will be contacted for an Interview.
